To download Android File Transfer provided by Google, go to https://www.android.com/filetransfer to download and install this free app.
Step 2 – Connect your PRIV to Mac and select File Transfer mode
Provided the PRIV USB drivers and Android File Transfer has been installed, unlock your device if it has a screen lock and connect it to your Mac. It’s important to add that in order to access your device on your Mac, if you have a password set, you need to unlock it first. This is a security precaution that prevents someone from taking your device, connecting it to their computer and accessing your personal data.
After connecting the device, you MUST place the device into File Transfer mode as well as it connects in a charging mode only by default. To do this, swipe down from the top of your display using two fingers and tap on the notification Connecting in charging mode, followed by tapping File Transfers.
When you select File Transfer, the Android File Transfer app should open automatically on your Mac and show your device memory and media card contents. If this doesn’t open automatically, open the Android File Transfer app manually to access your device contents.
